Dr. Ijay Egbarin is a medical doctor working at the intersection of healthcare, education, and global systems. She approaches health beyond the individual patient, focusing on how systems, training pathways, migration, and institutional design shape outcomes, particularly for diasporic and globally mobile communities.
Dr. Egbarin’s work draws on clinical practice, medical education, and healthcare strategy. She has contributed to curriculum reform, workforce development, and system-level thinking across clinical, academic, and advisory settings. Her perspective is informed by working across cultures and institutions, and by operating within systems not originally designed for the populations they now serve.
The Diaspora Doc is the platform through which she develops and shares this work; combining clinical insight with systems thinking to support individuals and organisations translating expertise into practical, sustainable impact.
Her interests include medical education reform, global health pathways, diaspora-led impact, and execution-focused approaches to health and education systems.
"I believe in systems that see the whole person, education that empowers, and leadership that listens."
When she doesn't have her stethoscope or the speaker’s mic, she can be found exploring food markets or planning someone's wedding.
